Raven.5

TW-Acustic have developed the Raven .5 in response to requests for
an affordable way into Raven ownership. In contrast to our 'cost no
object' turntables, the real development effort here is in the art
of restraint. Despite this, as always we set great store by our
insistence on perfect workmanship and an untouchable feel and finish.
The frame and platter are crafted from the same tried and tested
Delrin that is used in our top models; on the Raven .5 the frame and
platter are each 30 mm thick. The platter revolves on an inverted
bearing with a 10 mm diameter shaft. The basic frame shape is as
similar as possible to the Raven One. Platter drive is provided by
the same three-phase DC motor. Motor and motor control are integrated
within the chassis and decoupled from it by rubber isolating cushions.

Raven One

A new baby is born. Our aim in developing the Raven One was to be
able to offer our customers a compact turntable whilst simultaneously
making available the technology and build quality of the universally
acclaimed Raven AC to a more competitive price bracket. We have now
succeeded in that aim. The innovative development as well as the tried
and tested materials used in the Raven AC are of course also used in
the Raven One too. These circumstances lead to an effective, easy to
use and reliable layout. Sonically, the Raven One is of a very high
level and should set the benchmark in its price bracket, specifically
with regard to dynamics, resolution and timing. It is possible to run
any arm with the Raven One. As an option, the motor can be removed
and positioned beside the turntable like the Raven AC. In this way,
space for an optional second armboard is freed up. For the platter mat
and record clamp, we fall back on the proven and respected Millenium
Audio products. Drive is provided by the self same proven motor used
in the Raven AC. The motor control is also of the same quality. This
applies to the bearing too, simply the diameter of the shaft is smaller.
With its compact measurements (width 470mm, depth 400mm, weight
21kg), the Raven One won't make huge demands for space on your hifi
rack. Indulge your fascination for analogue perfection with the Raven One!

Raven AC

Ars Cyprium (latin: ore from Cyprus). This was what the Romans
called copper, the first metal to be used by mankind. Since the
Stone Age, over 10,000 years ago, man has been using copper. We
have taken the exceptional properties of copper, and in conjunction
with our special polymer we have developed a compound platter. The
musical reproduction benefits from breathtaking soundstaging and
stereo depth, the representation of the instruments gains substance.
The whole sound characteristic becomes clearer and more relaxed.
Platter drive is via a maintenance-free belt. The AC version of the
Raven has a modified motor control.
The armboard is made from bronze as standard. OEM-Stillpoint feet
are also supplied as standard.
A significant update is the provision of a new motor control unit.
This is even better than its predecessor and is designed to provide
support for the three-motor drive option.

Black Night

The Raven Black Night is our reference turntable. Naturally, the
experience gained over the last few years stood us in good stead
for developing the Black Night, yet despite drawing on these
experiences, the Black Night also incorporates many innovative
features not seen before in this form. The Raven Black Night is
a truly monumental turntable, as its sheer size and weight testify.
Despite this, thanks to the proportions, colour and choice of
materials, the design remains pleasing and harmonious.
